How do I set up my leave balances?
When you first open DAYOFF, the onboarding flow will guide you through selecting your country, setting vacation days, sick days and personal days. You can change these anytime in Settings then Categories.
How do I add a leave entry?
Tap the plus button on the Home or Calendar screen. Select a category, pick your start and end dates, and tap Add Leave. You can also use Quick Log on the Home screen to instantly log today as a day off.
How do I edit or delete a leave entry?
Go to the Timeline tab and tap on any entry to edit it. You can change dates, category or delete the entry entirely.
What is the AI Vacation Planner?
DAYOFF includes an optional AI feature powered by Claude that suggests optimal times to take leave based on your balances, upcoming holidays and burnout risk. To use it, you need to add your own Anthropic API key in Settings then Claude API Key.
How do I get a Claude API key?
1. Visit console.anthropic.com
2. Create a free account
3. Generate an API key
4. Paste it in DAYOFF under Settings then Claude API Key
Typical usage costs less than one cent per request. You control your own billing with Anthropic.
Is my data private?
Yes. All your data is stored locally on your device. No accounts are required. No data is collected or transmitted to our servers. The only exception is the optional AI feature which sends leave data directly to Anthropic when you use it. You can review exactly what is shared in Settings then AI Privacy.
Can I track leave for multiple jobs?
Yes. Go to Settings then Employment Profiles and tap the plus button to add additional employers. Each profile has its own categories, entries and holiday calendar.
How do I export my data?
Go to Settings then scroll to the Data section. You can export as JSON (full backup), CSV (spreadsheet) or PDF (formatted report).
How do I restore my data?
Go to Settings then Import Data and select a previously exported JSON backup file.
The app shows the wrong public holidays for my country.
Go to Settings then Employment Profiles, tap your profile, and verify the correct country is selected. DAYOFF supports over 50 countries. If your country is not listed, you can manually add custom holidays in your profile.
