Color of the Ball is a puzzle game inspired by the Voight-Kampff test. The player learns to associate colors with emotions and uses this knowledge to answer increasingly difficult questions.
As the game progresses, the patterns become more complex, leading to a final encounter that tests the player’s memory, observation, and understanding of the game’s rules.
Designed the level layout and player progression.
Introduced mechanics through environmental cues.
Structured the experience around a learn → practise → test progression.
Gradually increased the difficulty.
Designed the final encounter as a test of acquired knowledge.
The player begins in a controlled space where visual cues introduce the color-emotion system.
Color patterns gradually become more complex, requiring the player to remember and apply previously learned rules.
The final encounter combines memory, observation, and emotional interpretation into one challenge.
