I am uniquely qualified to support a full array of marketing and communication business needs with my expertise in design, strategic marketing leadership experience, and in-depth communications team development. I can set direction, manage large-scale initiatives and teams, and roll up my sleeves and help get the work done.
So, how did I get here? Let me tell you a story.
I have a BFA in Communication Design from the University of Connecticut. My educational background gave me the expertise to create visually compelling designs across a wide array of mediua, including websites, email, print, video, and more.
After college, I spent about 8 years as a designer in the sign industry. It was here that I not only honed my design skills, but also learned the consultative approach of working with clients ranging from landscapers to large corporate organizations. I also managed a team of designers and production assistants and managed the day-to-day operations of a small business, all while consistently improving clients' brand recognition and visual identities.
In 2011 I entered corporate America, joining Prudential Retirement® on a newly created marketing team embedded within their sales organization. In order to support the fast-paced, evolving needs of the sales team, they brought in a group of designers to support custom presentations, microsites, and other sales collateral for deals ranging from $5 million to over $2 billion. During this time, I maintained my FINRA Series 6 license and learned how to support complex B2B marketing needs. I also began freelancing design and marketing services to various consultants and small businesses in need of new branding identities and materials.
The next portion of my journey was about 7 years with Centene, the biggest player in government-sponsored healthcare, supporting various subsidiaries. My first stint was building a marketing function to support B2B business development. Nurtur Health had a substantial member communications team at the time, but no direct marketing support. I helped lead a small team of writers and strategists to build a new set of collateral and presentations.
Shortly thereafter, Centene decided to rebrand approximately 15 of their subsidiaries under the Envolve family of companies. I led the rebrand efforts for the Envolve PeopleCare group, which resulted from the merger of 5 different organizations. I launched internal and external communication plans, social media channels, website, blog, press releases, and more. After a successful launch, I took over a content delivery team of website, email, social media, and portal developers. From there, I was promoted and received an expanded set of responsibilities and a larger team to support all of our B2B marketing efforts, including inbound marketing, content marketing, lead generation, and more. I also built an internal communications function from the ground up to support approximately 1,500 employees in our business unit.
As the organization continued to evolve, I was again promoted and took over leadership of the entire marketing and communication function, including over 20 direct and indirect reports supporting Medicaid, Medicare, Marketplace, Correctional, and Commercial segments. I advanced our brand messaging, increased budget efficiency, reorganized and optimized headcount, and ensured compliance and timeliness.
After this successful management, I was tapped to provide similar support to our sister company, Envolve Pharmacy Solutions. I spent another 2.5 years optimizing this team, including building a new employee engagement function supporting over 3,200 employees through peer recognition and empowerment programs. I led a team delivering strategic content and campaigns that supported a large field sales team for our specialty pharmacy business focused on healthcare providers. I also assisted with multiple mergers and acquisitions as well as a divestiture.
In 2023, I made the decision to leave Centene, which had grown to over 80,000 employees, to go to a smaller organization where I could be more hands-on and make quicker, more actionable decisions and impact. I joined Paradigm to build their communications function, help lead the marketing organization, and own the marketing technology stack and operations. I built processes and strategies for both internal and external communications, while taking their technology stack to the next level. I owned the major initiative of relaunching their website, instituted a video strategy, and helped manage and create numerous video projects.
During my time with Paradigm, I helped develop and consequently sat on the newly formed AI Governance Board. I helped review all AI functions and platforms for the organization and owned and implemented AI-related marketing tools, including Descript, Copilot, Adobe Firefly, Envato, and more. I built custom agentic AI solutions for competitive intelligence as well as marketing analytics reporting.
I am now ready for my next opportunity and challenge. I thrive at the intersection of marketing and communications and the ability to use my wide breadth of expertise to help bring your team and organization to the next level. Whether your needs are B2B, digital, web, creative, brand, AI, marketing or communications strategy-related, I can help be your solution.
