My name is David Pires, and I'm a PhD candidate at the University of Évora, carrying out my research project at the Nematology laboratories of the National Institute for Agrarian and Veterinary Research (INIAV, I.P.) and the Mediterranean Institute for Agriculture, Environment and Development (MED), on the biological control of the pinewood nematode, Bursaphelenchus xylophilus, using antagonistic fungi. I also collaborate with De La Salle University's Plant and Soil Health Research Unit, and I'm a co-founder of Active Plant Nematologists.
