Estudiantes,

Nos aseguraremos de continuar explorando formas de traerlos de regreso a la escuela de manera segura. Necesitamos pensar en el futuro de nuestras escuelas. Necesitamos mantener y proteger nuestros grupos de afinidad estudiantil. Necesitamos encontrar formas de reducir las tarifas para que sea más fácil para todos los estudiantes participen en actividades extracurriculares. Necesitamos trabajar juntos para examinar realmente nuestra relación con nuestros SROs. Necesitamos explorar nuestra hora de inicio de la escuela. Debemos aumentar el enfoque en la salud mental. Debemos asegurarnos de que todos se sientan vistos, bienvenidos y como si pertenecieran a nuestras escuelas. Trabajaremos juntos para que esto suceda. We will make sure that we continue to explore ways to safely bring you back to school. We need to think about the future of our schools. We need to keep and protect our student affinity groups. We need to find ways to reduce fees make it easier for all students to participate in extra curricular activities. We need to work together to really examine our relationship with our SROs. We need to explore our school start time. We must increase the focus on mental health. We must ensure that you all feel seen, welcomed, and like you belong in our schools. We will work together to make this happen. I have been in the classroom and understand that building relationships and treating students like individuals and critical thinkers is the best way to connect with you. You have a voice and I will do what I can to hear it and amplify it.

Entiendo que tenemos varios problemas que se deben resolver. Sé que tenemos que regresar a nuestros estudiantes de manera segura a la escuela. Debemos asegurarnos de que nuestros estudiantes se pongan al día académicamente. Debemos aprobar las pólizas y ajustar nuestros presupuestos para que todos nuestros estudiantes vuelvan a su entendimiento academico a nivel de grado. Algunos de nuestros programas deben renovarse. Como padre de dos estudiantes de TAG, necesitamos realmente enfocarnos y redefinir cómo estamos sirviendo a estos estudiantes. Todos nuestros programas merecen ser examinados y reevaluados para que podamos establecer pólizas que los hagan lo mejor posible. Debemos continuar el trabajo que se inició con la aprobación de la resolución de la junta directiva contra el anti-prejuicio. Necesitamos trabajar juntos para asegurar que el Plan de la Ley de Inversión Estudiantil se siga implementando. Debemos asegurarnos de que nuestros estudiantes estén seguros y que continuemos explorando nuestras relaciones con nuestros oficiales de policia de la escuela. Debemos trabajar con los funcionarios de la ciudad para continuar las asociaciones para ayudar a los estudiantes que se encuentran sin hogar. I understand that we have several issues that need to be addressed. I know that we have to bring in our students safely back to school. We must ensure that our students get academically caught up. We must pass policy and adjust our budgets so that we can get all our students back to grade level achievement. Some of our programs need to be revamped. As a parent of two TAG students, we need to really focus and redefine how we are serving these students. All of our programs deserve to be looked into and reevaluated so that we can issue policies that will make them the best possible. We must continue the work that was started with the passing of the Anti-biased board resolution. We need to work together to ensure that the Student Investment Act Plan continues to be implemented. We must ensure that our students are safe and that we continue to explore our relationships with our SROs. We must work with city officials to continue partnerships to help students that are experiencing homelessness. I am excited to hear about the work that the district is doing with providing help for our families that need help due to COVID and their addition of Family Partnership Advocates, Basic Needs Teams, and the partnership with Packed With Pride and The Foundation for Tigard Tualatin Schools. With your vote, I will ensure that we work together to educate every child!
