David Jaimes for Tigard Tualatin School Board:
I have had the great pleasure of knowing and working with David Jaimes since he began work with the Newberg School District. David is engaged, passionate, and active.
He is a key participant in the City of Newberg’s Equity Task Force through which we hope to be better reach and then serve our traditionally underrepresented populations.
David and his eye for equity will help direct a series of community listening sessions with groups such as the school district’s Latino Parents Group, George Fox University’s Intercultural Resource Center, leading employers, and area churches.
Given David’s, experience, background, and passion for both education and the needs of the Latinx community, I cannot think of a better Tigard Tualatin School Board member. I wholly endorse his candidacy and believe the Tigard Tualatin School District and the community at large will benefit greatly from his involvement.

On behalf of the Oregon Association for Bilingual Education, it is my great honor to endorse David Jaimes for Position 1 with the Tigard Tualatin school board 2021. David has been a passionate and active advocate for students, families and schools for many years. He recently served as an ambassador for our organization this past year at our virtual conference and other major events sponsored by OABE. David has served as an OABE member, presenter and an advocate.
His continued support, expertise, understanding, personal experience and partnership with our organization and with those whom we serve around the state have been outstanding. David’s passion and lens align perfectly well with our organization’s mission; which is ‘advocate for educational equity, excellence, and empowerment for bilingual/multilingual students in a multicultural society’. He is a parent of school age children, educator, community member, public school administrator and bilingual/bicultural himself. David brings not only the field knowledge, but the lived experience that will make a difference in the lives of students and families who experience marginalization and underrepresentation. He listens with an open mind to differing opinions and responds with professionalism in educational settings. Because David understands the needs of parents, the community, and how to partner with the educational system in so many levels, he makes the perfect candidate for Position 1 as a school board member of the Tigard Tualatin School District. The TTSD community would highly benefit from his partnership, expertise, reliable organization, commitment and incredible personality that makes everyone feel involved, listened to, and part of the solution process.
