While life course principles and theoretically-driven empirical research is always present, my current research is devoted to two main streams.
Wealth inequality and family dynamics: the role of demographic characteristics and events in shaping wealth holdings at different levels of aggregation. In this regard, I have been working on topics such as wealth accumulation, within-couple wealth inequality, and intergenerational transmission of homeownership, and inheritance.
Ongoing work on this topic:
Demographic behaviours and wealth accumulation across countries and cohorts (w/ Stefani Scherer) - status: under review
Parental education and offspring wealth attainment across Europe (w/ Filippo Gioachin) - status: preprint
Consequences of within-couple age heterogamy on personal wealth (w/ Theresa Nutz) - status: under review
Nativity wealth gaps across countries - status: conceptualization
Life courses and later health outcomes: how the interplay of work and family trajectories during adulthood shape health inequalities for the elderly population. I have been working on topics such the protective role of marriage, the use of biomarkers in social stratification, and partner's spillover effects on health.
Ongoing work on this topic:
Marital biographies and health later on: which aspects really matter? (w/ Raffaele Grotti and Stefani Scherer) - status: drafting
Work-family trajectories and partner’s effects on health (w/ Raffaele Grotti and Stefani Scherer) - status: drafting
The wealth-health gradient over the life course (w/ Dina Maskileyson, Raffaele Grotti, and Stefani Scherer) - status: drafting
