Davide Gritti
Hi! I am a quantitative family sociologist. I am Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Sociology and Social Research, University of Trento. I am affiliated with the Center for Social Inequality Studies and the Life Course Longitudinal Laboratory.
I work on a project on life courses and later life outcomes within AGE-IT programme (The demography of ageing), co-funded by Next Generation EU. In 2026, I am also working on a project on inheritance and health funded by the Munich International Stone Center for Inequality Research trough the Pipeline Mentoring Program.
I have a broad research agenda at the crossroads between sociology and social demography. I use longitudinal data and methods to answer societally relevant questions. I am focusing on wealth and health around demographic trajectories and events.
My work has been published in journals such as Advances in Life Course Research, Journal of Marriage and Family, Demographic Research, Research in Social Stratification and Mobility, and Social Indicators Research.
I got my PhD at Trento Doctoral School of Social Sciences in 2024, with a thesis on demographic change and wealth inequality.
In Spring 2026, I visited the Stone Center for Inequality Dynamics (CID) at the University of Michigan. In Summer 2024, I visited the Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER) and the Luxembourg Income Study (LIS) Cross-National Data Center. In Spring 2022, I visited the Department of Social Sciences of Humboldt University in Berlin.
