Hello!

I am David Cúñez and I am an Ecuadorian engineer who works on the spatial and temporal evolution of patterns that emerge at fluid-granular interfaces in industrial and environmental applications using laboratory experiments and numerical simulations.

Currently, I am a postdoctoral associate in the Geomorphology Lab at the University of Rochester, working with Dr. Rachel Glade on the diffusion of sediments during their transport, how it could affect the erosion of rivers over long periods of time, and how the particle shape controls on sediment transport. To understand this, I plan to design new experiments to study these phenomena in 2D and 3D systems involving natural particles that are found in rivers, and photoelastic particles of different shapes, connecting people with different backgrounds from engineers to geophysicists.

Collaborations

I'm always open to new collaborations. If you think we might be able to develop a project together, please do not hesitate to contact me via e-mail at david DOT cunez AT hotmail DOT com, introducing yourself and describing briefly your project and/or ongoing research.
