Here are a few of the projects that I've been working on recently. I don't want to give away too much, but here's a peek at a couple of them.
An unexpected journey of discovery that begins at a temple to Ganesha, the ecstasy of St. Teresa of Avila, and ancient rituals from around the world to bless babies that are still practiced today.
I'm about 2/3 of the way through the first draft of this fantasy novel (series?), that was sparked by Wizards of the Coast's publication of Journeys Through the Radiant Citadel. So much fantasy writing has tended to be Eurocentric, and I think it misses both the opportunity to appeal to and draw upon non-Western communities and cultures. It's been quite rewarding to world-build but even more rewarding to conceive of the lives of individuals in that world.
A small town, a woman who returns after decades for the funeral of her mother, her last living relative. An exploration of identity construction and its costs.
