I'm a writer and teacher who lives in Dallas, TX. I grew up in Mesquite, TX, and after graduating from Texas A&M University - Commerce and moving around a bit as I tried to find my way, I moved to New York City, where I worked in academic publishing for about 25 years. As a development editor, I helped authors craft college textbooks in the humanities and social sciences, and I am most proud of the extraordinary The History of Art: A Global View (Thames & Hudson) that I gave four years of my life to developing with an amazing publishing and author team.
I moved back to Texas in 2016 to focus on writing and teaching. My first published book, Through the Harvest, is now available. When I'm not writing or teaching high school seniors that the Creature’s name is not “Frankenstein,” I'm working in my garden.
