Although you may know me as Davey. I'm a powerlifting coach from New Jersey with roots in Michigan where I did my undergrad at MSU (go green!). I've been coaching powerlifting since 2022, but prior to that, I worked in various settings such as Divison 1 Strength and Conditioning (MSU, Princeton U), rehab, private sector performance and in-person personal training. During my time at MSU, I was lucky enough to found the powerlifting club (MSUPL) and led the club until my graduation in 2024. I love coaching because I love powerlifting. I've been competing in powerlifting since 2020 and since then have competed 14 times including winning USAPL Junior Nationals in 2025.
Outside of the gym, I love listening to music-- my favorite artist is Mac Miller, but I'm also a huge EDM fan (Zedd would be my second choice artist). I enjoy spending as much time enjoying the outdoors as I can, spending time with my girlfriend and dog, and finding more ways to give back to powerlifting such as reffing, spotting / loading, and providing mentorship to other coaches and trainers.

2022 USAPL MI Collegiate State Champions
I found powerlifting after my last season of high school track & field was cancelled during the pandemic. I trained for my first meet in my garage and competed at the 2020 NJ State Championship-- I was hooked. After that meet, I moved to Michigan to start school where I began founding MSUPL and training for collegiate nationals. Through ups and downs, including back injuries and other obstacles, I've competed a total of 14 times, primarily at the state and national level which I'm extremely fortunate for. I've placed on the podium at nationals 5x, broken 2 American deadlift records (USAPL), won best Junior lifter at the 2023 Michigan State Championship, and won USAPL Raw Nationals as a Junior in 2025.
I love training and competing in powerlifting, and hope that my experience in the sport can help others find their path as an athlete. Above all else, I want my athlete's experience with me to be true to their goals and desires for what they wish to get out of this sport.
