Nirvana: Punk Goes Mainstream

Nirvana, an American punk band formed in 1987, consisted of 2 founding members, Kurt Cobain and Krist Novoselic. They had many drummers, but their main drummer is considered to be Dave Grohl, even though he didn't record on their first album. Even though they only released 3 studio albums, they are considered one of the best alternative bands of all time. Nirvana is considered to be one of the godfathers of punk. They brought punk to the mainstream media, and some people thank them for it and some people resent them for it.
