A note from Ingrid

Dear Participants (or would-be Participants):
Thank you so much for coming (or maybe still considering to come) to the meeting on "Time-Frequency and Beyond", this June 2018.
This is the year where I turn 64 (a number so much more interesting than 60, at least to mathematicians). Initially I had some misgivings when the organizers approached me about holding an event that would mark this birthday, but my misgivings gave way as it became clear that this could be a unique opportunity for a big extended-family-and-friends reunion, to renew old (or make new) friendships, and where the youngest ones among us can meet and interact with the older members. By coincidence, the village where I was born, Houthalen, is now home to a large recreational and meeting facility where I hope we will all have a good time in each other's company, mathematically as well as otherwise.
If you are one of the younger participants, please don't remain shyly in your corner at this event -- even those older, distinguished participants were not only young once, but they also still feel young on the inside, and are much more approachable than you might fear. And if you are one of those older, distinguished participants, then I am sure you will gladly welcome a younger generation to our very friendly community. (And thank you so much for coming!)
As the time gets closer, I find I am very very much looking forward to seeing you all in Houthalen.
