You can buy MYOs from the shop when they’re open. MYOs aren’t always open and typically open for purchase during events.
You can also sometimes get MYOs through raffles or free events.
If you have an unused MYO slot you design the Datagrim based on the trait sheets.
Once finished with your design you can submit it for approval via note to the group.
DO NOT post your unapproved Datagrim, you may save it in stash or share it in the MYO-Discussion channel on the discord.
MYO Approval Template:
Datagrim type:
Traits:
Any upgrades or special traits used:
Proof of MYO slot: (link to or screenshot of comment. If screenshotting you MUST be sure to include the whole conversation, not just the confirmation comment)
You will be told if you need to make any changes.
Upon approval you may post the design and submit it to the group’s MYO folder.
You can make any type you want. The only type that’s a little restricted are Audios only because all Audios are Uncommon by default so you will need an Uncommon MYO slot or at least 2 uncommon upgrades (for the eyes and speakers) to add to a Common MYO.
There are no “regular” or “normal” type Datagrims. All the subspecies are the species.
You can choose from: Virus, Arcade, Error, Vaporwave, and Audio
The General Trait Sheet just shows traits that are universal to all Datagrims, not a type of it’s own.
You can use as many traits of that rarity or lower as you want!
Ex. An Uncommon slot can have as many Uncommon and Common traits as you’d like
You cannot mix traits from different types. Hybrid Datagrims are of Legendary rarity and not available for MYOs.
It must be colored and the traits used must be clear. It can be sketchy and messy as long as things are in color and still easy to understand.
MYOs never expire. The only exceptions being free MYO events which will state their expiration date. Purchased MYOs and Raffled MYOs will never expire.
Yes you can as long as the original designer doesn’t have something like that against their TOS.
For trading and reselling purposes though it must be different enough from the original existing design to be considered it's own character.
You can note the group or you can ask in the Discord!
Upgrades can be used on existing Datagrims to add to or alter them. They can also be added to MYO slots.
Ex. You have a Common MYO slot and 2 Uncommon trait upgrades, you can use those 2 upgrades when designing that MYO (if you want)
Upgrades never expire.
The only exception is upgrades earned with free event MYOs, those upgrades are locked to that MYO and will expire with it.
Trait swaps are only if you completely change one trait for another. Trait swaps only apply for traits of the same rarity or lower, higher rarity traits would require a trait upgrade instead.
Ex. Changing a tail on a Virus from smooth to spiked is a swap. Changing the spike shape on an already spiked tail is not a swap.
Palette swaps are currently being revised
Yes, anytime you use an item to alter your Datagrim the changes are permanent and the item is used up from your inventory. If you want to make more changes you will need new items for the changes.
Special traits are extra and unusual traits but are traits that don’t affect the overall rarity of a Datagrim.
Ex. A Common Datagrim with Transparency is still Common, but the special trait is still counted as something extra.
GP (Glitch Points) are the group currency. They can be used to purchase things from the shop.
Sort of, you can buy one item with GP and a different item with cash, you just can’t mix payments on one item.
So if you were to buy two items as a partial payment it’d look like this:
Item: Common MYO slot
Payment: GP
Item: Fluffy Special Trait
Payment: Paypal
Total: $10 and 300GP
Current balance: 350GP
Common MYO slot -300GP
Updated balance: 50GP
(then a paypal invoice would be sent separately for the special trait)
If you received a free upgrade or other item (usually via raffle or event participation) you’re allowed to sell it back to the shop for the GP it’s worth and buy something else.
You cannot sell back MYOs.
To make things easier to track you can only spend GP in the shop. But you can still buy an item from the shop with GP and trade/gift it to someone else.
For shop purchases the Databank is updated at the time of the purchase.
For GP earned every Friday art will be tallied up and added to the Databank. You will need to link to all the art that you have done or have gotten from others of your Datagrim from that week on the Databank Journal.
Please give a total of GP earned from the art when you comment.
FTO stands for First Time Owner. If you haven’t owned a Datagrim before then you are an FTO and are eligible for FTO discounts on certain adopts!
The main universal traits that distinguish a Datagrim are their big hands with only four fingers, little nubbin feet, and no nose. Other traits can vary and are on the trait sheets.
As far as body types go though they can have pretty much any body type, from thin to muscular to curvy to chubby, whatever you’d like!
Datagrims are technically genderless but can identify however they choose to.
Guest artist applications are currently closed. There will be posts about seeking guest artists when they are open.
DTEs are Draw To Enter. They’re raffles where you draw the designated Datagrim for a chance to win them. The winner gets the art submitted to the raffle as well.
Pretty much anything is allowed as long as it’s not multiple weapons. No Jack of all Trades.
Ex. Sword that turns into a bladed whip? Allowed
Multiple of the same kind of knives? Allowed
Scythe and rifle and shield and dual blades? Tone it down please
Datagrims can have their weapons be “magic” of sorts but it’ll still manifest as a specific kind of magic.
Ex. A Datagrim that has their weapon manifest as black fire will always manifest as black fire
There’s going to be updates that involve that soon!
