(a)Data Engineering & Science Council
There is a council known as the Data Engineering & Science Council abbreviated as DataESC (in this section referred to as the “Council”). The council Statute and Charter were approved unanimously with majority of members present on September 14th, 2017.
(b)Functions
Consistent with the Charter of the Council as defined at Charter.
(b)(1)Assess and appraise challenges, approaches, trends, solutions & strategies related to data industry.
(b)(2)Provide forum for networking, collaboration and exchange of ideas.
(c)Privacy
(c)(1)Communications between Members is governed by Chatham House Rule.
(c)(2)The communications channels governed by (c)(1) are designated at Communication.
(d)Members
The Council consists of Members as listed at Members.
(e)Guests
(e)(1)Member can invite one Guest to participate in session
(e)(2)Member is responsible for Guest complying with (c)Privacy and other Statue regulations
(e)(3)Guest does not have any rights other than participation in session
(f)Nominations
(f)(1)Candidate can be nominated for Council Membership and approved when the Council Member count is less than 12.
(f)(2)Nominee must meet all of the following requirements:
(f)(2)(i)Exceptional Data Engineering and/or Data Science expertise.
(f)(2)(ii)Leadership role in Data Engineering and/or Data Science in the last 5 years.
(f)(2)(iii)Unique expertise, industry profile, level of responsibility, or other significant factor that increases Council's diversity.
(f)(2)(iv)Pledge of active participation as Council Member.
(f)(3)Candidate can be nominated by a current Council Member using asynchronous communication medium specified at Logistics.
(f)(4)Nominee is approved as Member by 2/3 Council vote majority when at least 1/2 of Members are present.
(g)Debarment
A Member is debarred from Council for following reasons:
(g)(1)Resignation.
(g)(2)Abandonment -- missing three consecutive sessions without notice to Council.
(g)(3)Violation of (c)Privacy, including violation committed by Member's Guest, affirmed by 2/3 Council vote majority when at least 1/2 of Members are present.
(h)Sessions
(h)(1)Session frequency, date, time, communication medium are defined at Logistics.
(h)(2)Session structure and process for agenda formulation are defined at Logistics.
(h)(3)Finalized session agendas and session notes are transcribed at Sessions.
(i)Amendments
(i)(1)Statute Amendments are approved by 2/3 Council vote majority when at least 1/2 of Members are present.
(i)(2)Amendments are formulated by a Council Member and proposed through asynchronous communication medium specified at Logistics.
