Privacy Policy for Dash QR
Effective date: June 24, 2026
Dash QR ("Dash QR", "we", "us", or "our") provides QR code and barcode scanning, QR code creation, history management, sharing, and related features through the Dash QR mobile application (the "App").
This Privacy Policy explains what information may be processed when you use the App, how that information is used, when it may be shared, and the choices available to you.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Dash QR mobile application distributed for iOS and Android. It does not apply to third-party websites, applications, or services that may be opened from links or QR codes scanned through the App.
2. Information We Process
2.1 Information You Provide Through App Features
Depending on how you use the App, the App may process:
QR codes or barcodes you scan.
Content you manually enter to generate QR codes, such as URLs, contact details, Wi-Fi details, email addresses, phone numbers, SMS data, event data, text, or location coordinates.
Records you choose to save in local history or mark as favorites.
Files you choose to export or share.
2.2 Device Permissions and On-Device Access
The App may request access to the following device features:
Camera: to scan QR codes and barcodes in real time.
Photos / Media / Storage: to read images you choose for code scanning and to save generated QR code images to your photo library or device storage.
The App only uses these permissions to provide the related feature you request.
2.3 Automatically Processed Information
The App itself is designed to operate primarily on-device. However, certain third-party SDKs and platform services used in the App may automatically process limited technical information, which may include:
Device and app identifiers.
App version and operating system information.
Advertising identifiers or similar identifiers.
Diagnostic, performance, or usage information.
Approximate location inferred from IP address, if collected by advertising or platform providers.
3. How We Use Information
We use or process information to:
scan and decode QR codes and barcodes;
generate QR codes from information you provide;
save generated QR images to your device when you request it;
keep local scan and creation history on your device;
let you export or share history or generated QR images;
open links or related destinations when you choose to do so;
display ads, if enabled in the App;
maintain, improve, secure, and troubleshoot the App.
4. Local Storage and On-Device Data
Dash QR stores scan history, created QR history, favorites, and related metadata locally on your device. We do not currently provide account registration or cloud synchronization in the App.
This means:
your history is generally stored on your device, not in a Dash QR user account;
if you delete the App or clear app data, locally stored records may be deleted;
if you export or share data, copies may be stored or processed by the destination app or service you choose.
5. Advertising and Third-Party Services
The App may use third-party SDKs and platform services, including advertising services such as Google Mobile Ads / AdMob.
These providers may collect or process information in accordance with their own privacy policies. For example, advertising providers may use device identifiers, usage signals, or other data to provide, limit, measure, or personalize ads where permitted by law.
Relevant third-party services may include:
Google Mobile Ads / AdMob
Apple App Store services
Google Play services
share, link-opening, and device platform services
We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of the third-party providers you interact with through the App.

6. Legal Bases for Processing
Where applicable under data protection laws, we process information based on one or more of the following:
your consent, including when you grant permissions;
performance of the services you request in the App;
our legitimate interests in operating, securing, improving, and supporting the App;
compliance with legal obligations.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information only in the following limited situations:
with service providers and SDK providers that help operate the App;
when you choose to share content through your device share sheet or another app;
when required by law, regulation, legal process, or valid governmental request;
to protect rights, safety, security, or prevent fraud, abuse, or misuse;
in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
8. Data Retention
Locally stored records remain on your device until you delete them, clear history, remove the App, or otherwise remove local app data.
Third-party providers may retain data they collect according to their own policies and legal requirements.
9. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your information, such as rights to access, delete, correct, restrict, object, or withdraw consent.
Because Dash QR primarily stores history locally on your device and does not currently use user accounts, many privacy controls can be exercised directly in the App or through your device settings, including:
denying or revoking app permissions;
clearing history inside the App;
deleting exported files from your device;
deleting the App and its local data.
If you have a privacy request, you may contact us using the information below.
10. Children's Privacy
Dash QR is not directed to children under 13, or a higher age threshold where required by local law, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through user accounts.
If you believe a child has provided information in violation of applicable law, contact us and we will review the matter.
11. International Transfers
Third-party providers used by the App may process information in countries other than your own. Where applicable, those providers are responsible for implementing appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.
12. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect information processed by the App. However, no method of storage, transmission, or processing is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Third-Party Links and Content
The App may open URLs, app links, payment links, review links, social profiles, or other content encoded in QR codes. We are not responsible for the privacy, security, accuracy, legality, or practices of third-party destinations.
Please review the privacy policies and terms of any third-party service you use.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Effective date" above when changes are made. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Privacy Policy to the extent permitted by law.
