Plot Vacancies
The site is fully occupied with of our allotment plots having been rented out.
Since the start of 2020 the waiting list to rent a plot on the site has increased from none to over 20 Dartford Residents.
Based on the usual rate of turn-over on our site, this means many of them will be disappointed and may well have to wait several years to rent one.
If you have a plot of more than 5 rods or more than one maybe you could consider giving up some of your current allocation, especially if you are struggling to cultivate it, so that others can have the opportunity to enjoy our allotments as much as we do.
Please let one of the committee know if this is the case or if current circumstances mean that you can no longer tend your plot so that it can be rented out to a new tenant. However, if you are struggling to satisfactorily cultivate your plot, but wish to continue tending it, don't feel defeated, you should consider contacting the committee to discuss options, as we may be able to provide help and assistance.
Parking at the Devonshire Avenue Entrance by the 'Trading Hut' Entrance
The committee would be grateful if members parking here could display their membership cards on their vehicles' dashboard. This will enable us to identify persons who are not members, but who are using the area on a regular basis as a parking spot and to potentially take remedial action.
Bonfires
The next Bonfire weekend will be the first full weekend of February 2026 provided the weather is fine.
PLOT VANDALISM, MALICIOUS DAMAGE AND SHED BREAK-INS
There have often been sheds broken into and plot vandalism; plot-holders are therefore asked :
To individually report the incident to the police, using the 101 number, any break-ins they have experienced to the local police with details of their plot number and any losses they have sustained.
To visit their plots frequently, particularly during the winter months, to check their sheds and their plots for losses/damage.
