Calypso is the Moon Cabin mascot. They are 21 years old in Earth years and 21,000 years old on their home planet. It uses they/them, it/its, moon/moons, star/stars, and void/voids pronouns! Star comes from a moon off a planet called Nebulux. Moon is genderfluid and demisexual. It enjoys mechanics, robotics, reading, writing, stargazing, drawing, welding, guitar, and cartography. Void is also an Alien. 

Generations ago, a piece of the moon chipped off, and slowly (throughout thousands of years) turned into an anthropomorphic creature. Some of their people are thousands of years old due to how long it takes for them to form from the rocks (if not born through parents, and instead asexually). Its parents were the royalty of Nebulux which made star royal as well. Void was next in line for the throne, unfortunately, their population was growing at an exponential rate. Void's planet was no longer sustainable. As the heir to the throne, Calypso felt as if it had to help in some way. 

Moon sought out a spaceship that stars friends and them built, in hopes of creating a new bigger planet for its people.  On their travels, the moon experienced some difficulties with the ship, it began to crash onto a planet stars had not heard of, Earth. When void crashed on Earth, a nice person named Lux found Calypso and healed it. At first, Calypso feared Lux, they were not a species it had ever encountered at home or researched. This planet and species were not what void had aimed to research for this mission, but due to the crash star endured, moon was stuck so it figured it would make the best of it.

 Lux had brought void back to Atlas’s parents’ ranch where they had met Atlas. Atlas and Lux had been living together for some time now. Aspen lived with them too, Lux and Calypso “adopted” Aspen, and the group had turned into a little family. During moons healing, Lux and it started to bond since Lux stayed by voids side throughout the whole healing process.  They were the sun to its eclipse. They later began dating, some of the dating rituals were foreign to Calypso, but Lux made it all worth it. 

In the crash, star had to get it's left arm amputated at the elbow. Stars arm had caused mobility difficulties, motor function issues, and overall pain so amputation was the best option in general. Its home did not have the resources to amputate it either. So in a way, the crash was a blessing in disguise. After the amputation, void worked to build itself a robotic prosthetic for stars arm; while working on the prosthetic, Lux taught them ASL alongside the writing of a few basic English words. ASL was difficult at first since it was still adjusting to the prosthetic but with time it became easier. English was not Calypso's native tongue, on Nebulux they used a language called Nebulanic. This created a language barrier between Lux and Calypso, on top of this Calypso is nonverbal which caused a little more difficulty when communicating. They found different tools to help them overcome these difficulties and hardships though. 

Lux and void eventually opened a shop called Starlight Shack, selling various forms of art and spiritual goods.  Lux with their mix of handmade jewelry, herbs, homemade candles, and crystals matched with Calypso's welded trinkets and doodads. One day one of their frequent customers, Vuur, came in telling Lux and Calypso about a camp called Elemental Camp, a safe space for all different people to come and enjoy their summer. Star did not have much from home after the crash, one of the few remaining things void had left was a sculpture of a dog from home given to them by its parents as a good luck charm on a necklace. Over time at camp, the dog which void named Styx became real, just like their species! 

Star met Cordelia at camp and they connected quickly. Void sees her as one of their closest friends. Cordelia said Calypso was something called an introvert which was a word they had never heard before. They explained how quiet and reserved it am, along with how star becomes anxious in big groups. She “adopted” Calypso in a way, she said it was similar to how an extrovert adopts an introvert. Lux said star was more of an ambivert, they didn't understand either but it do find it funny to watch them debate on it.  Cordelia introduced star to her brother, Maurice.  Maurice and void also became rather close, they bonded over their love for the arts. Every time Calypso saw it around camp he always had a sketchbook and was sketching ideas for his next ice sculptures. They would constantly meet up at different coffee shops and co-exist together while they both planned our next projects. Maurice is also a person star considered a best friend. Their house is just across the lake from the ranch so they were constantly hanging out. Maurice, Atlas, and Cordelia have been friends since childhood, they all adopted Calypso into the group and it couldn’t be happier.

​At camp, void also met Kor, and he showed star his impressive rock collection. When Moon told him about the rocks on its home planet he was shocked. They constantly would collect rocks and compete to see who had the coolest. They also would get others involved and have them vote too. Moon also frequently competed with Lyn over who had the better style. Lyn loved the punk aesthetic while Calypso was more into the cyberpunk aesthetic. I suppose you could say they had a bit of a fashion rivalry. Star also met Aether, they both came to camp and just got along from there. 

Music was a foreign concept to void before star arrived on Earth, you see in space there are no atoms or molecules, such as air, to carry soundwaves, leaving them extraterrestrial species to develop alternative methods of communication, but nowadays star can’t tell you how it ever lived without music. The first time void heard music was from The Voyager which blasted through their solar system and now music is slowly spreading through its solar system because of Earth and humans. It’s been many years since void first heard music and yet Moon refuse to believe that this ‘music’ is not some sort of magical witchery, because there is no other plausible way so much emotion could be infused into simple words.

Styx is Calypso's pet dog, Styx uses glo/gloob/gloobs pronouns and it/its/itself pronouns. Styx was not always a dog, like Calypso's species it started as a rock pendant gifted to Calypso from voids parents. When leaving Nebulux Calypso brought a pendant with them that they put on a chain and wore as a necklace to remind them of why they were leaving Nebulux and who they had back at home. They barely ever took off the necklace. After the crash on earth, something happened to this charm. In the next few days, the charm came to life. Calypso decided to name glo Styx after voids home town. Since that day Calypso and Styx have been best friends like any owner would be with their pet. Together they explore the wonders of earth and all the inhabit it.
