Required to design and re-purpose for a series of cottages within an existing deserted old village from an impoverished rural area in China; to convert these series of cottages into a revenue generated inhabitation that combines with business and dwelling.

The Installation Journey

The essential point of this project is for you to express your understanding of narrative and to interpret it in your own design for a gallery installation. It is about using spaces to tell stories.

Site Research and Representation

Remodelling a building or space is largely about responding to an existing site. Comprehensive research and analysis of the existing sites are essential before any proposal can be made for its alteration. The aim is to select a site and establish the parameters for the Honours Project by identifying its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and problems.

Community Project-Participant's Installation

Making is what makes us human, it connects us to the world around us and provides opportunity for self-expression. Making is a way of thinking.

This project is concerned with many aspects of Making that relates to design and participants; it celebrates the act of making, from the source of material through to the creation of things. It considers how Making helps to make a sustainable community and leads to a preliminary concept focusing on how Design helps making our future more sustainable. Most importantly, this project is fun and creative.
