Can I try out classes before enrolling?
YES! We offer a free trial week so that your student can try out classes to find their best fit. Click on the "Join Our Mailing List" button to register for a trial week, or email us!
Can I drop my dancer off early/pick them up late if I have a scheduling issue?
We open at 4:45 each day. If dancers are 12 and older, they can be dropped off prior to class and wait for pick up after class (they will be asked to wait in the student lounge, NOT the lobby). Dancers under 12 can arrive up to 15 minutes prior to their class and can be picked up as late as 15 minutes after classes end.
Do I have to set my account up on direct draft?
We require all students to have a Jackrabbit account with a credit card, debit card, or bank account on file. However, if you pay your fees before the scheduled due dates, your account will not be drafted.
What is the dress code?
For ballet barre and performance ballet, dancers are required to wear pink tights and a black leotard. For all other classes, dancers should wear dance attire (no t-shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants, etc). For hip hop classes, dress code can include "street attire" not allowed in other classes. Tights are optional for all classes with the exception of ballet. Dancers wear pink ballet shoes, tan taps, pirouettes. Refer to the handbook for your child's specific class requirements.
Should my dancer bring snacks to class?
For dancers only in class for an hour, no. Some dancers take several classes back to back - in this case, dancers may bring healthy snacks (students should grab a bite when changing shoes or when on water breaks). Although we do have vending machines, students are not allowed to use these during class. BRING WATER TO EVERY CLASS. It is a good habit to have water bottles in dancers' bags even if they come with a cup of water. Although we have water coolers, these are meant to grab quick sip, not to fill up large water containers.
How is my child's class level determined?
We enroll students in the classes we think they will fit best. For the first few weeks of class, we monitor their progress. If we feel like a different class would fit your child better, we will change their schedule. Our staff is well trained to make these changes, so please trust our judgement. Just because a child is a bit older or younger than those in their class does not mean they are misplaced. We place based on age and ability.
Can I watch my child's class?
Our young dancers are best focused when there are no distractions. When parents attend class, dancers want to sit with Mommy, or may cry/act out in ways they will not do when parents are not present. For this reason, we ask that parents drop dancers off, say a quick goodbye (even if they are crying), and let us take them from there. We try to have at least one watch day per season for parents to visit their child in class.
Do I have to stay at the studio while my child is in class?
No, feel free to drop them off and leave. If your child only dances for an hour and you wish to stay, you are welcome to wait in our parent lounge, on the back porch, or in your car. Due to limited space, we ask that you NOT wait in the lobby.
