Luna Messaging Service

Description: proposed re-factoring of our main customer portal, this initiative sought to transform engagement with customers from a static set of configuration controls and reports to a more dynamic and pro-active communication platform. The new interaction model used messaging models to deliver timely and actionable next steps, and also the convenience of messaging-based tasks.

Design Challenges:

Transform our customer portal from a traditional self-service tool into a customer-centric communication platform

Solutions:

Provide an enhanced messaging service so internal groups can maintain their customers engaged with alerts, notifications, insights, and recommended next steps for their products
Design a unified messaging experience that allows users to set their own communications preferences and priority rules
Consolidate message traffic into a CRM portal to provide internal views of historical support and critical conversation threads

Oracle / Endeca

Latitude 3.0 Producer Framework

Description: this was an effort to achieve UI consistency in the BI toolset by defining standardized configuration patterns and user interface models across Endeca components.

Roles: User Research, UX Design, Wireframing, Documentation

Design Challenges:

Create a standardized framework defining a consistent look, interaction, and modularity for common components for the Latitude 3.0 product

Solutions:

Reconciled different workflows and scenarios for each component, and ensured as much consistency across the experience as possible
Documented common interactions, events, and workflow patterns
Reduced the design workflow by creating re-usable Axure masters and templates for across the UX team

Clickable Wireframes

Pivot Table Component

Description: This was a highly interactive re-factoring of a complex Endeca pivot-table component that allows users to create select metrics and dimensions reports via a drag-and-drop interface.

Roles: User Research, UX Design, Clickable Prototype, Documentation

Design Challenges:

Design a complex Pivot Table / Cross Tabulation component for use in the Latitude BI Discovery tool

Solutions:

Used rapid-prototyping in Axure to quickly test and validate interface concepts, and to provide detailed documentation for offshore development teams
Engaged local engineering teams in highly-collaborative design sessions
Tested the clickable prototypes with users to gather feedback and validate our designs
