IMPACT: Designers were able to find desired assets much more quickly.
The original Asset Library panel used a hierarchy and object representation that merely reflected the underlying APIs. Designers were often confused by the technical terminology and were unable to successfully browse the strict hierarchy.
Original Asset Library
I designed an improved Asset Library that shipped in Blend V3. Improvements included:
Object counts
Multiple abstract buckets in the hierarchy so that objects could be found in multiple places
I proposed further improvements for a future version of Blend. This included:
Exemplars for each object type for quick selection
History, Favorites, and Suggested sections
Multiple view sortings and styles
