Multiscale modelling of novel vitrimer composites for application in recyclable and sustainable wind turbine blades
EOLIAN is aiming to develop wind turbine blades offering numerous advantages over current thermoset composite blade designs. The EOLIAN blade will be manufactured using bio-based repairable and recyclable vitrimer composites reinforced with natural basalt fibres.
My main role in this project is to develop a multiscale model to predict the properties of the composite given the vitrimer formulation is known and to create a material card which can be used to perform component or part-level structural analysis.
