Thermal imaging using a thermal camera
I have been recently using an FLIR thermal camera to detect heat leakage from autoclaves, ovens and other high-temperature manufacturing/processing equipment.
Thermal imaging cameras are a useful non-contact measurement tool that are very versatile and allow for the measurement of temperature in waste heat sources such as outlet pipes, heat exchange systems, etc.
This information can be used to design heat recovery systems that can either store the waste heat recovered for future use or use the heat immediately in further processes.
