Blogs

Welcome to my blog!

Each blog post will consist of a critical review of musical performances that I have attended in person.

Please note that these posts are completely personal opinions and they do not carry professional or profound credibility as it is written by a classical enthusiast rather than a professional critic. Every post on the blog does not represent any opinions of the institution or organization I am part of.

Prologue

As I attended many classical performances, I always thought of writing a blog about how I felt and reflected on each concert. Although there are many concerts that I have never summarized in writing, I felt a strong urge to start recording critics of each performance starting the 2023- 2024 season. As I began to play the violin at the age of 6, classical music was always around me. As a person who was born in South Korea, classical music was always a must during childhood since everyone was encouraged or sometimes forced to play an instrument. From my personal musical journey that started during my childhood, my residence in San Francisco, California, and Rochester, New York has opened up revenues for me to explore many musical opportunities. There, the journey pruned and allowed me to experience different orchestras like the San Francisco Symphony, National Symphony, Seoul Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony, New York Symphony, Boston Symphony, Rochester Philharmonic, Buffalo Philharmonic, and more. My personal wish to broaden my musical insights and to visit as many different orchestral performances as possible led me to focus my blog on classical music. Whether you support, feel neutral, or argue against my insights, I hope this blog can intrigue you to gain a little more interest in classical music.
