Personal Background
My name is Daniel, I grew up in Baldwinsville, NY just outside of Syracuse. Before graduating from UB I transferred schools twice, and dealt with extreme uncertainty in my future career choices. Upon accidentally stumbling into Higher Education through my job as a student, I became very passionate about the industry and enhancing the student experience for those who faced similar issues.
Outside of work a few of my hobbies include spending time at home with my fiancé and our dog, Buddy, as well as playing rec league sports, finding new tv shows to watch, and trying out new restaurants in the area. If you have suggestions of places for us to try, we would love to hear them!
Professional Profile
I am currently the Senior Lead of Admissions Operations at the University at Buffalo (UB), where I oversee the application management and recruitment strategies for prospective students. Prior to my time at UB I spent 5 years at TC3 as an Admissions Advisor, and later becoming the Assistant Director of Admissions - CRM Administrator. Along with over six years of experience in higher education, I also hold a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration and a Microcredential in Student Advising and Counseling from Stony Brook University.
My core competencies include implementing and administering the Slate CRM, training and mentoring admissions staff, developing and delivering effective presentations, building and maintaining partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, and evaluating and improving the admissions process. I am passionate about creating learning experiences that foster academic excellence and personal growth, and enhancing retention rates and promoting an inclusive campus culture.
With major interests in student success and student support, it is a personal goal of mine to make all student's educational journeys as enjoyable, and as smooth as possible, while also building relationships along the way. To support this my Master's thesis address issues around access to college education.
