Last year we participated in a nationwide Tapathon event organised by The Performer's Project to fundraise for BBC Children in Need.
This was also an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the most amount of people dancing the same tap routine at the same time (over 7500) & the great thing is the more people involved, the more helped raise funds to support children and young people across the UK, to rebuild their lives.
From September 2021, 25 of our Dance Fusion family; children, adults, beginners & advanced dancers learnt the routine to 'I'm Still Standing' and on 21st November at 1pm at All Saints Hall, Orpington, we tapped to an extended version with the rest of the nation participating. We also involved our other dancers too who performed a medley of routines from our classes from friends & family who came to support us.
Together we were pleased to raise nearly £1700 for Children in Need through generous donations on our just giving page & on the day with our tea, coffee & cakes, many of which were provided by our dancers & their families.
Whilst we fell short of the World record by a few hundred this year (amaznig considering the covid circumstances), we are really proud to have beaten our previous fundraising record by a couple of hundred & want to thank everyone who supported our fundraising challenge and donated to a great cause in providing children access the help they need.
