We recently joined in with the Let’s Dance campaign - a fantastic initiative spearheaded by Angela Rippon (@theangelarippon) whose journey on Strictly Come Dancing highlighted to her the incredible benefits of dancing, and now she’s on a mission to get the whole nation dancing!
'Let’s Dance' is all about raising awareness for the benefits of dance on both physical and mental health, bringing people together through dance and encouraging those that don’t usually dance to give it a go.
Whatever your age, ability or experience, we know the more we dance, the better we can feel – as individuals, building fitness and maintaining a healthy mind and body, and as a community by connecting with others through a shared enjoyment. Dance helps to tackle health challenges, reduce stress, boost wellbeing and combat loneliness when we spend time dancing with people who share the same goal. Those already dancing with us know the extra benefits that coming to a class can bring: laughter, camaraderie, sense of achievement and many happy memories, uplifted by good music.
We love dance and want to get more people dancing so we held a mixed class event on Saturday 1st March including a community dance class for families, friends and neighbours to join in with, as well as a taster for Dance Fit Lite and Tap - we enjoyed it so much we did it all again on 29th March and 5th April, with any kind donations for the class being in aid of local charity: Safe Haven Animal Rescue
Following on from these events we are pleased to be able to add Dance Fit Lite to our Saturday mornings on a regular basis and offer two Tap Taster Courses.
So, whether you’re a big bopper, a hip hopper, a strictly showstopper or a two step toe-tapper, come along and don't forget to help us get more people dancing by sharing this invitation via social media #LetsDance
