Service

• The Teaching Support Staff Union at SFU, to which I served as steward for the mathematics department.
• I owe a great deal of thanks to the National Education Union (formerly National Union of Teachers/Association of Teachers and Lecturers) in the UK.

Sports

• Parkrun is a fabulous initiative, hosting free timed 5km runs each Saturday morning at locations worldwide. You can view my results here, if you are so interested.
• I enjoy playing football when I can, ideally in an attacking wing-back role. Play Vancouver organise recreational leagues, the proceeds of which go towards youth participation.
• On which note, I support Manchester United, and my favourite player is Juan Mata. His Common Goal initiative seems to be doing remarkable work for underprivileged youth participation in football worldwide.
• I enjoy playing tennis, serving (no pun intended) as Club Secretary at the University of Warwick Tennis Club, and then 3rd team captain at Jesmond Lawn Tennis Club.
