Letter from the President
The Dalhousie Undergraduate Political Science Society has been around for a long time. I am proud to have helped carry on the legacy of this organization. In our first year back from Covid-19 we were able to hold many successful in person events again such as Trivia, lunch seminars, and prof mixers. We were able to once again offer student led initiatives such as the Political Networking Initiative, as well as the new Alumni Networking Initiative. We were also able to continue the tradition of the undergraduate journal The Podium. All this would not have been possible without the help of our wonderful executive and council members.
I want to thank returning members Isobel and Laura for the help with keeping this society moving. I also want to thank all the new members who came out and contributed for the first time this year. I would finally like to thank the entire department but in particular Dr. Katherine Fierlbeck and Tracy Powell. The continued support from the department allows us to do amazing things for the students in Political Science year after year.
Thank you to everyone who submitted an essay to The Podium journal this year. There were some truly amazing submissions. I would like to congratulate this year's winners Katie Cheslock, Hennessey Blue Shafrat, Clara von Maltzahn, Olivia Paul, Andrew Dogurga, Rebecca Tomlik, and Jessica Duffney. Finally, I would like to once again say thank you to all members of the executive and council, without all of you none of this would be possible.
Sincerely,
Jekobe Craig
