I love giving back to my school and my community, and as such, I love being involved in many of the different student organizations on and off campus. I am involved in SWE (Society of Women in Engineering branch at Chapman University), CS Club (Chapman University Computer Science Club), PFP (promising futures program, Chapman University's first-gen organization), and Chapman Latinx.
I serve as an officer in both SWE and CS Club. Working as External Vice President for SWE and the graphic designer for CS.
To make things less ugly!
I’ve had many negative experiences in my life as a result
of harmful perceptions, generalizations, stereotypes, and bias.
I don’t think thats okay, and I’m tired of letting it continue.
My potential is not defined by my identity.
My opportunity isn’t limited by my culture.
Making things less ugly means dismantling the systems that
perpetuate the oppression and prejudice that support them.
And other times, it means adding a bit of color here and there, maybe an accented border, and a nice font.
How?
contributing to my community by helping create and
promote new spaces for women and people from
marginalized backgrounds
committing to creating spaces for education and empathetic
discussions
