Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Mood Journal (the “App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.
Description of Service
Mood Journal is a personal mood journaling application that allows you to:
• Log quick mood check-ins with a title and optional notes
• Browse a recent-day timeline and revisit past entries
• View insights and memories derived from your entries on your device
• Use history (list and calendar-style navigation, as provided in the App)
• Enable optional daily reminders to build a journaling habit
• Use activity or context tags (e.g. work, health, relationships) to add structure
• Unlock premium features via in-app subscription where offered
The App stores your journal content locally on your device unless and until you use any future feature that explicitly syncs or exports data. Features may change over time; see the App Store listing for current capabilities.
User Accounts and Subscriptions
No login required
The App is designed to work without creating a user account. Your entries are tied to your device and app data unless you use device backup (e.g. iCloud backup) under your own Apple ID settings.
Free tier
• A free tier may limit how many journal entries you can create or which features are available.
• Limits are described in the App or on the App Store listing and may be updated.
Premium subscription
• Premium subscriptions (or other paid offerings) are available through Apple In-App Purchase.
• Subscriptions may be managed with the help of RevenueCat (or similar) for entitlement verification.
• Billing, renewal, cancellation, and refunds are governed by Apple’s terms and your Apple ID subscription settings.
• Free trials (if offered) are shown at purchase; unless you cancel before the trial ends per Apple’s rules, you may be charged.
Apple App Store
If you obtained the App from Apple’s App Store:
• These Terms are between you and [Your legal name or company name], not Apple.
• Apple is not responsible for the App or its content, maintenance, or support, except as required by law.
• Apple may be a third-party beneficiary of these Terms as to App Store distribution.

User Responsibilities
Acceptable use
You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
• Use the App to create, store, or promote illegal, harmful, or abusive content
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Infringe intellectual property or other rights of others
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code except where prohibited by law
• Use automated means to abuse or overload the App or related services
• Interfere with or disrupt the security or integrity of the App
Content ownership
• You retain ownership of the content you create in the App (e.g. your journal entries and notes).
• You are solely responsible for your content and for backing it up if you need copies outside the device.
• We do not claim ownership of your journal content.
• You grant us only a limited license to process your content as needed to run the App on your device (e.g. store, display, and compute on-device summaries).
Health and wellness
Mood Journal is for personal reflection and self-care support only. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not an emergency service. Do not delay or disregard professional advice because of something you log in the App. If you are in crisis, contact local emergency services or a crisis hotline immediately.
Limitations and disclaimers
Service availability
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
• The App may be unavailable during maintenance or due to factors outside our control.
• We may modify or discontinue features or the App where permitted by law and App Store rules.
Data loss
• Journal data is stored on your device. You are responsible for maintaining backups if you need recovery beyond what the App provides (e.g. device backup, future export features).
• We are not liable for loss of data resulting from device failure, loss, uninstallation, or user error, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Insights and summaries
• Charts, summaries, or “insights” shown in the App are derived on-device from your entries and are for informational purposes only—not clinical or professional assessment.
Intellectual property
App ownership
The App, including its design, branding, features, and documentation (excluding your content), is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.
Trademarks
All trademarks and logos used in connection with the App are our property or used under license.
Subscription terms
Auto-renewal
• Paid subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel through your Apple ID subscription settings before renewal.
• Cancellation typically takes effect at the end of the current billing period; see Apple’s policies for details.
Refunds
• Refund requests are handled by Apple according to Apple’s refund policy. We do not process App Store refunds directly.
Price changes
• We may change prices or offerings for new purchases or renewals as allowed by Apple and applicable law.
• Material changes may be communicated via the App Store listing or in-app where required.
Third-party services
The App relies on Apple (App Store, StoreKit) and may use RevenueCat and other tools described in our Privacy Policy. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services beyond what the law requires.

Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
• WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.
• OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS ARISING FROM THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE APP OR SUBSCRIPTIONS IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) ZERO IF YOU ONLY USED FREE FEATURES—UNLESS APPLICABLE LAW REQUIRES OTHERWISE.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the minimum extent required by law.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the App; (b) your violation of these Terms; or (c) your violation of any third-party rights.
Termination
By you
You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. Deleting the App may remove local data unless restored from a device backup.
By us
We may suspend or limit access to the App if you materially violate these Terms or misuse the App, where permitted by law and App Store guidelines.
Provisions that by their nature should survive (e.g. disclaimers, liability limits, governing law) will survive termination.
Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will update the “Last Updated” date and may provide additional notice as required by law or the App Store. Continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [Your country/state / jurisdiction], without regard to conflict-of-law rules that would require another jurisdiction’s law, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country apply.
Dispute resolution
Any dispute arising from these Terms or the App shall be resolved as follows, to the extent permitted by law:

Severability
