Welcome to DailyPhoto Support
If you need help using DailyPhoto, please review the sections below.
DailyPhoto helps you:
View photos and videos from “Today in History”
Browse media by day in a monthly calendar (“One Day One Shot”)
Open media details, swipe through same-day items, delete with confirmation, and share media
Q1: Why does the app ask for Photo Library permission?
DailyPhoto needs Photo Library access to display your local photos/videos and enable delete/share features.
Q2: Can I use the app without granting permission?
You can open the app, but core features (history view, calendar thumbnails, detail browsing) require Photo Library permission.
Q3: How does deletion work?
In media detail view:
Tap Delete
Confirm in the second confirmation dialog
The selected item is deleted from your Photo Library
Q4: Does DailyPhoto upload my photos to a server?
No. In the current version, photos are processed on-device and not uploaded to developer servers.
Q5: Why is a specific date empty in “Today in History”?
That means there are no photos in your library taken on that same month/day in previous years.
Q6: Why can’t a video play immediately?
Videos may require loading from iCloud or local decoding. Please wait briefly and ensure network is available if the media is stored in iCloud.
Photo content does not appear
Check Photo Library permission:
iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Photos > DailyPhoto
Set access to All Photos (or ensure relevant items are included in Limited Photos)
Reopen the app after changing permission
App seems slow when loading thumbnails
Large libraries may take longer on first load
Keep the app open briefly to allow indexing/loading
Ensure device storage is not critically low
Share button does not respond
Try another media item
Confirm the media is fully loaded
Restart the app and retry
Deletion statistics (count and estimated freed storage) are stored locally on your device
“Today in History” is sorted from recent year to older years
“One Day One Shot” supports month switching and day-level detail entry
