Here are some action shots from the lab and group meetings!
Since 2019 the lab has a picnic, hike and berry picking out in the Qu'appelle valley. Ali, Henrique, Jared, Shahina, Tanya and Ayden (hitching a ride on mom) spent a beautiful summer afternoon enjoying the native prairie. Henrique, from Brazil, experiencing different landscape realizes that Saskatchewan is not entirely flat.
Every year we used to travel to the University of Calgary field station in Kananaskis, Alberta to have a joint biophysics meeting with the research group of Dr. David Cramb. This meeting began to fulfill the requirements of a joint NSERC CRD grant and then blossomed into an annual event. Each attendee gave a research presentation of their summer research, fielded questions and engages in lively discussion. By co-mingling so many researchers with varied levels and expertise, we gained a wide variety of insight into each research project. Over the years there have been various guests, including Dr. Scott Murphy and group (UofR), and Dr. Max Anikovskiy (formerly NINT, UofC) became a regular attendee. The trip includes team building exercises, which in the past included mountain summits and hikes, and more recently rock climbing, as well as after hours field station shenanigans.
