Know Your District Support Team and Other Parent Leaders

Districts have staff who can help families. If you cannot resolve an issue or get help at your child's school, you can contact district teams to help. Aside from the Superintendent, there are Family Support Coordinators and Family Leadership Coordinators.

Superintendent Dr. David Pretto

Dr. David Pretto has proudly served as District 20 Community Superintendent since 2021. Dr. Pretto and the District 20 Superintendent's Office support the principals, staff, families, and stakeholders of over 50,000 students across 43 schools and 11 PreK Centers.

Dr. Lucia Perez Medina

Deputy Superintendent

Dr. Medina has proudly served District 20 in a variety of roles since 2015. As Deputy Superintendent, she serves as the Superintendent’s designee and directly supports the district and its schools through leadership development, instructional improvement, and strong family and community partnerships.

Bill Chin

A Family Leadership Coordinator works with groups that support parent leadership in schools, such as Parent and Parent-Teacher Associations (PA/PTA), School Leadership Teams (SLT) and Community Education Councils (CEC)

Sylwia Jasinski

A Family Support Coordinator is the person you should contact if there is a problem at your child’s school that you cannot resolve with school staff. You should always start at your child's school.

Christina Scheer (PS/IS 30)

Co-Chairs of the Title 1 District Parent Advisory Council (DPAC). The DPAC supports school-based Title 1 parents advisory councils.

Welcome Back Breakfast with parent leaders and District 20 members. This event was a fantastic opportunity to reconnect with fellow parent leaders, share experiences, and kick off the new school year with a positive and energized mindset. CEC 20 is committed to fostering strong partnerships with our community. The event highlighted the importance of collaboration and shared goals in improving our schools.
