The International Speech Contest is the most prestigious of all Toastmasters competitions. It challenges participants to deliver a 5- to 7-minute original speech on any topic that inspires, motivates, or moves the audience. This contest begins at the club level and can advance all the way to the Toastmasters World Championship of Public Speaking. Speeches are typically impactful and deeply personal, showcasing a speaker’s ability to connect with listeners through storytelling and strong delivery.
The Humorous Speech Contest is all about laughter and entertainment. Participants deliver a 5- to 7-minute original speech that uses humor to engage and amuse the audience. While the content must be tasteful and relevant, it allows speakers to show off their wit, timing, and comedic storytelling. This contest encourages creativity and is a favorite among many clubs for its light-hearted and fun atmosphere.
