Gun License Questionnaire
Ask for a photo ID from the candidate, run their information in the MDT and check for any notes, previous convictions and felonies. (If the candidate possesses a felony in the past 7 days or you have reasonable suspicion that the candidate will use their firearms licence to commit a crime, do not proceed)
Ask the canidate what the reason for their firearms licence request is. (As long as the candidate provides a satisfactory answer, proceed with the request)
Do you agree, that if arrested for a felony, or a misdemeanor in which you have used your firearm,your firearms licence will be revoked for 14 days or until court order. (Do not continue if the answer is No
List 3 out of the 8 basic gun safety rules:
6.1 Never point your firearm at something you don’t intend to kill
6.2 Always ensure that your firearms is unloaded if you’re not using it
6.3 Always ensure that your firearms safety is on at all times
6.4 Treat all firearms as if they were loaded
6.5 Keep your finger off the trigger until you’re ready to fire
6.6 Do not brandish your firearm unless you’re authorised to do so by the property owner or at an appropriate event.
6.7 Know your target and its surroundings
6.8 Always store your firearm safely, in a place other people are unable to access it
