💛 Cypress Volunteers Make a BIG Difference!

At Cypress, we LOVE our volunteers! 💛 Our school is better because of the families who show up, pitch in, and help make Cypress a welcoming place where every student can thrive.

Want to join the fun this year? We’d love to have you! Whether you’re helping in the classroom, supporting a campus event, or lending a hand behind the scenes, there are lots of ways to get involved.

One important step before you volunteer: District policy requires all campus volunteers to be approved each school year. That means your volunteer application needs to be renewed annually—even if you were approved last year.

CURRENT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

The Clothes Closet offers free clothes to all LISD families — and we need volunteers to keep it running! Gently used clothes need to be sorted, organized, hung on hangers in the Clothes Closet portable.

In October, the Cypress volunteer slot is 10/14 from 9:30am-12:30pm.

Every 9 weeks, the district delivers science materials that need to be distributed to all classrooms. We are looking for 1–2 WatchDOGS to assist with this process.

At the end of each 9-week period, teachers will re-pack their bins and place them outside their classrooms. We will again need 1–2 WatchDOGS to help collect the bins and consolidate them in a designated area for district pickup. The front office has a dolly that you may use.

Spanish Program

Join the LISD Spanish Volunteer Program and help make this school year extra special for kids and teachers alike!

Volunteer at Cypress for 30 minutes weekly from January to April. Fluency not required and lots of resources along the way.

Art help needed

Help hang artwork to be enjoyed around the school.

SPOTS Awards

Thursdays 7:20 - 7:50 AM

We are in need of volunteers for April and May. This is a recurring volunteer role every Thursday to help the parents of SPOTS awards winners sign out the yard signs. Let's recognize the SPOTS Leader at school and in their neighborhood.
