To our Room Reps, past, present, and future, thank you! You are a key point of communication between our PTA and Cypress families. The work you do, big and small, helps every family feel informed, included, and connected to our school community. We could not do what we do without you.
A Room Rep is a parent volunteer who serves as the communication bridge between your child's teacher and classroom families. Using the class directory, Room Reps send periodic emails throughout the year to keep everyone in the loop.
Key Responsibilities:
Class directory — you'll receive access to your class directory to send emails directly to your classroom families
Monthly emails — share PTA updates, upcoming events, and what's happening in the classroom
Coordinate class needs — things like Teacher Breakfast sign-ups, book room volunteers, or classroom celebrations
Seasonal reminders — point families to resources like Teacher Favorites lists around the holidays and Teacher Appreciation Week
Be a friendly point of contact — help new and returning families feel connected to the classroom community
It's a low-lift, high-impact role, most months it's just one clear email to your class families to keep everyone informed and engaged.

Collect donations from families as needed
Request volunteers to be on site to help, where needed
Great news, PTA takes on the heavy lifting for year-end parties! No need to coordinate donations or plans here, we've got it covered.
What room reps do:
Share the volunteer sign-up with your class families for kiddo crowd control support on the day
Room Rep is an important role, and we appreciate you more than you know. If at any point during the year you feel like you need more support, or need to step back from the role altogether, please reach out to mckee.chelsea@gmail.com . We'll coordinate a handoff and make sure your class doesn't miss a beat.
Thank you again for everything you do for our Cypress families!
