Jingbo Meng is an associate professor of communication at Ohio State University. She is the director of the Communication and Computational for Well-Being (CWell) lab, and she is the co-director of the Computational and Statistical Models Group (COSMOS). Dr. Meng is affiliated with the Department of Biomedical Informatics and Translational Data Analytics Institute (TDAI). She is currently serving as the Chair for the Health Communication Division at the International Communication Association (ICA health). Dr. Meng's research has been funded by the National Science Foundation. She received her PhD from the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, University of Southern California. Prior to joining OSU, she has worked in the Department of Communication at Michigan State University for eight years and was part of the Trifecta Initiative that promotes interdisciplinary work between Communication, Engineering, and Health.
Jiaqi is a PhD student in the School of Communication at Ohio State University. Her research interests center around human-AI relationships using advanced social network analysis and dynamic conversational analysis.
Joana is a PhD student in the School of Communication at Ohio State University. Her work work delves into how AI can improve health communication and enhance patient outcomes. She is also exploring AI's potential in fact-checking health misinformation.
Chi is a PhD student in Human-AI Interaction, Emerging Media Studies at Boston University. She is interested in AI ethics, cybercrime, and AI-mediated communication.
David is a master's student in the Computer Science program at OSU. He is interested in AI and cybersecurity.
Yara is an undergraduate research assistant. She has worked on health misinformation projects in our lab. She is pursuing her Master of Healthcare Administration studies.
Audrey is an undergraduate research assistant. She majors in communication and anthropology. She has worked on AI-enabled health intervention projects in our lab.
Hui was an undergraduate student majoring in Computer Science. He has worked on human-AI interaction projects by creating an online experiment study site. He is now pursuing his PhD in CS at University of Michigan.
Ziyou is an undergraduate research assistant. She majors in human ecology and interested in therapeutic riding for children with special needs. She hopes to explore potential technology solutions to the problem she's interested in.
Minji Rheu. Minji graduated from the Department of Media and Information at Michigan State University in 2021. She is currently an Assistant Professor at Loyola University of Chicago. Minji has worked on projects about human-AI supportive communication with Dr. Jingbo.
Reed Reynolds. Reed graduated from the Department of Communication at Michigan State University in 2020. He has worked at the University of Georgia as a postdoc fellow, and he is currently an assistant professor at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. He studies mechanisms of social influence in the context of health behavior, misinformation diffusion, and social networks.
Minwoong Chung. Minwoong graduated from the Department of Communication at Michigan State University in 2020. He focuses on how social norms and social networks are formed through communication and how these factors shape decisions to engage in health behavior. He has been a core member in our work on social networks and social support. Minwoong is currently an Assistant Professor at Central Michigan University.
Nancy Dai. Nancy graduated from the Department of Communication at Michigan State University in 2018. Her research investigates impression formation and social influence processes in technology-mediated contexts, with a particular focus on how users process information, form impressions of both human and AI communicators, and negotiate group-based identities. She has been deeply involved in our work on human-AI supportive communication. Nancy is currently working at City University of Hong Kong.
