TABLE OF CONTENTS
A: It is an IKEMEN GO game designed to pit characters against both companies listed in the title in a 1v1, 4-button environment that aims to balance the mechanics and play styles of the Capcom vs SNK games, Street Fighter 3 and the Marvel vs Capcom games. The game's roster takes characters from the Capcom and Square eras, up until 2003 (with some minor exceptions to this rule).
A: Mostly 90s nostalgia.
A: Not now, not ever, not in your dreams. Keep them to yourself, respectfully.
A: This is a 4-button fighting game, with 2 dedicated macro buttons, so it's technically 6 to some degree..
A: Since KarmaCharmeleon joined the team as a coder, she will most likely individually release them at a later time of her choosing, to which I have no objections, since it'll be her hard work on display. As for stages, Vegaz Parreli has released some of them publically and will continue to do so.
A: Yes, IKEMEN Go rollback. You can use VPNs to host (like Hamachi or Radmin), OR you can open port 7500 on your Windows Defender Firewall, which is a bit more advanced and slightly riskier if your security posture is not up to standards. This guide by TheFClass97 covers IKEMEN Go Online net play in decent detail.
A: Honestly, character spriters are the biggest contribution that can be provided. Feel free to reach out on BlueSky if you want to hop aboard.
A: Until everything I want is completed, or until Square Enix hits us with a C&D. While I've taken mitigation steps to make sure the latter doesn't happen, no fan project is impervious to the C&D hammer from corporate.
A: No. It's illegal to sell M.U.G.E.N. projects as it currently stands, let alone the intellectual property of other companies. If you are subscribing to someone's Patreon to get access to a M.U.G.E.N. game, especially one with intellectual properties of other companies being used, you are being scammed.
Of course, with the advent of M.U.G.E.Next and IKEMEN Go, both complete remakes of the M.U.G.E.N. engine from the ground up, the advent of being legally able to sell M.U.G.E.N. projects will finally become a reality, although exceptions in regards to the IPs of others still absolutely apply. However, TeamCVSQ or NewageMUGEN will never ask you to pay any monetary fee to play the game. This is a project by a fan for fans, and it would be disgraceful to profit off of the IPs of others.
A: By all means.
A: Once support for the final build is done, all characters, stages and screenpack + life bar modules will be manually uploaded by the team to M.U.G.E.N. sites (except M.U.G.E.N. Archive). After that, this game will be uploaded to GitHub and hosted their permanently. After that, all socials will go offline; this website, Discord server, YouTube channel and BlueSky account. You may not agree with the final course of action, but this decision was taken a long time ago and will not change.
P.S. Please do not download if found on MUGEN Archive as they hide the works of passionate creators behind a paywall through predatory means. There are different MUGEN sites that allow you to download without paying a fee, like M.U.G.E.N. Free For All or AK1 M.U.G.E.N. Community.
A: No, a tournament edition will not be made; however, if you want to edit the game to a tournament edition once done, feel free to do so, so long as you make it clear that this was not done by the original team and is an entirely separate standalone project, and maintain credit for the work we had put in.
