The CU Boulder student government is one of the most autonomous in the country, responsible for allocating nearly thirty two million dollars annually and possessing wide authority to initiate policy. So far, it is our belief that this power has not been wielded in a way that meaningfully improves the standard of living for the average CU Boulder student. With the ascent of a fascist regime on the national level, it is imperative for CU Boulder to have an effective and dedicated student government, committed not only to radically improving the quality of life of CU Boulder students but also using every means institutionally available to fight for student and worker democracy against administrative and fascist suppression. It is for these reasons we have laid out a platform for radical and progressive change that three representative-at-large members (Owen Andrews, Cole Fulton and Isabel Alvarado) are now running on. Additionally, YDSA has officialy endorsed the ACE ticket for Student Government, believing they are the best tri-executive student to represent student and worker interests. Furthermore, YDSA emphatically urges "Yes" votes on the ballot proposition allowing our unionized faculty and staff the right to collectively bargain. A strong union movement and workplace ownership is essential to a strong proletarian and, consequently, YDSA has made the decision to support in all forms the collective bargaining rights of CU Boulder workers.
