Hi! i am naomi jean-louis, owner of cutting edge design: painting & upholstery !  I opened naomi's tailoring & design  at 915 washington street, columbus, indiana in 2020, then moved to my new shop,  which is located in a little white cabin, East of  1503 Franklin St, on 15th St between Franklin & Lafayette, in 2022. 

In june of 2024, i decided to spend some time working outside, doing exterior painting, spending time with my teenage sons and seriously considering where I wanted to go with my business. I was often spending 16-20 hours sewing a day. I felt disconnected from my family and my  CHurch. I felt like time was passing me buy along with my dreams. I was running as fast as I could, but going nowhere.

 I love my job. It isn't even a job for me. My customers quickly become friends and family. Bering blessed with the opportunity to help someone look and feel great in their clothing is a gift for which I am humbled and honored.  Clothing that fits well and moves with you is such a confidence builder and confidence, is a powerful tool for success.  Dressing well is not simply about following fashion trends or impressing others. It is choosing to invest in your self-confidence and overall well-being. Choosing a high-quality, well-fitted wardrobe elevates your outward appearance and, more importantly, bolsters your confidence. Whether preparing for a job interview, a social gathering, or navigating daily tasks, how you dress can significantly impact your mood and mindset.

I loved my work but I was stuck in a rut. I was doing many small but time-consuming projects for customers, that brought in very little profit. as my bills began falling further and further behind, I knew I had to make a change......  I began seeking the Lord for guidance and inspiration. When the Lord speaks to my spirit, it is quiet and calm, yet unyielding. I know when something is my own thought and when it is a totally foreign thought... Something outside myself that I would never think of on my own. it's like a ray of light that softly penetrates my mind and my spirit, giving me knowledge, I couldn't possibly know...

...God gives me the knowledge that comes from experience...but not my own experience...HIS experience! How cool is that!!...I sought the lord and He answered...I closed naomi's tailoring and design.

Change doesn't come easy for me and I didn't really know what kind of changes to make.  After much prayer, talking with my pastor, doing some upholstery and painting for members of my church, and completely renovating a rental house for my Bishop, the idea materialized. I began following God's lead, in faith, and working each day towards a new goal.

I couldn't see the final product yet..because that's what faith is, right? the bible tells us in  Hebrews 11:1  Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.  i just got up each day, prayed and read my bible and did what needed to be done for that day.  naomi's tailoring and design is now reopening in December, 2024 as cutting edge design: painting & upholstery!
