Hello designers. Another month has passed, which means it is time for your designs to be judged. The three designs I’ve deemed most effective will be presented to you here. Enjoy.

Third Place
Ministry of Silly Walks (Designed by harvesttheratkingtempore)

Silver-bordered cards are known for effects that involve actions taken outside the game, a pattern which this design falls into. Rewarding a “silly walk” is in line with what would be expected from the Ministry of Silly Walks. Citizen tribal ties the card together with a more traditional Magic archetype, so this card has something for everyone. Sufficient.

Second Place
The O Ring (Designed by enragedmukamuka1)

This design combines two famous rings in its art while mechanically referencing a third. Ingenious. Balancing the exile removal ability against the mana production ability leads to interesting play patterns. The ramp in white is a bit strange, but the impressive art edit justifies a second place finish. A clever concept executed well.

First Place
Bucket and Bolt, Reinventors (Designed by Magmadragon3)

This legendary creature subverts its colorless cost by declaring itself five-color, opening up its potential as a commander. Enticing. Its ability lets you flip your modal spells and abilities very cheaply and suddenly, allowing for all sorts of use cases with different modal double-faced cards. The art and flavor text are both humorous. Excellent.

Now, back to work. For this month’s challenge, please design a new card that makes flavorful sense in a pre-pioneer set.

Use the $design command on the Custom Magic Discord Server to submit your card. You can only submit one entry. Submitting a second entry will erase your first one, and so on. If you submit more than a single design in one submission, it will be ignored.
If you are not looking to ⁠showcase your submission in the #Showcase thread, you're not looking for feedback in the #Feedback thread (both found in #custom-designs on the Custom Magic Discord Server), or you're looking to submit your design more discreetly, please use the #⁠bot-spam channel.
