Imagine this: you’re staring at your to-do list, which is actually longer than a CVS receipt.
You have no idea where to start, and the *tick tock* of the clock is SOOOOO distracting, and with every tick, time is flying by.
Even though you know you need to start working, your body is frozen, and your brain is basically giving you the finger and saying "nooooo"
You finally find the purrrrrfect playlist to push yourself to try to cross one thing off your list - and then, your phone starts to die. There's not a charger in sight, and you left yours at home (again).
*tick tock*
At this point, you're freakinggggg out because you know if you don't figure this out, you're going to miss your deadline, and you've already asked for an extension.
Anxiety builds, and suddenly you’re just paralyzed by the weight of everything. Your brain goes blank. And then...
The negative self-talk starts to creep in: “I’m a mess. Why can’t I get it together? Everyone else manages just fine. What’s wrong with me?” This cycle of overwhelm, shame, and frustration can makes it feel impossible to move forward.
Can you picture it? You may be wondering, who is this person who literally just described my entire life???

Long story short: I wasn’t diagnosed with ADHD until my first year in graduate school. As a former gifted kid, it was SOOO confusing to see that some things were soooo easy for me and other times, I was drowning and in MAJOR need of a lifeguard. I tried to find help, but it seemed like every time I had help in front of me, I had nothing to talk about, and then when I actually needed help, there was nobody around.
I think the worst part of ADHD is how INCONSISTENT it makes you. Some days, FR, I feel on top of the world!!!!
But other days, when life is LIFE-ing and I'm struggggggling, I need HELP to do the simplest things.
ADHD brains are so unpredictable that it makes it hard to know how to manage them.
