Student Mistreatment: The leadership at the School of Medicine takes the issue of student mistreatment very seriously. The American Association of Medical Colleges states, “Mistreatment, either intentional or unintentional, occurs when behavior shows disrespect for the dignity of others and unreasonably interferes with the learning process.” Examples of mistreatment include: public belittlement or humiliation; verbal abuse (e.g., speaking to or about a person in an intimidating or bullying manner); physical harm or the threat of physical harm; requests to perform personal services; being subject to offensive sexist remarks, or being subjected to unwanted sexual advances (verbal or physical); retaliation or threats of retaliation against students; discrimination or harassment based on race, religion, ethnicity, sex, age, or sexual orientation; and the use of grading or other forms of assessment in a punitive or discriminatory manner. If you believe you have been the victim of mistreatment, please reach out to one or more of many resources, e.g. OSL, COMPASS Guide, etc. Please also consider reporting mistreatment by faculty or residents to the Office of Faculty Relations: ReportMistreatment We need your help to address issues of mistreatment, so the office is committed to protecting your privacy.

To further develop the program, they are reaching out to students at The University of Colorado to see if anyone would be interested in interacting with Johnson & Johnson. Please see below for more details on the survey:
What?
Johnson & Johnson is conducting a survey on gender diversity in STEM and opportunities for future engagement on university campuses.
The survey should take no more than 10 minutes.
All responses are anonymous, and responses will be used to plan future events on campuses.
Students who fill out the survey will have the option to enter in a raffle with the chance to win a J&J branded Stanley cup.
If we receive responses from your school (both students and administrators), we will discuss how you can participate in this program.

Students with all levels of Spanish language ability, from beginning to advanced, are welcome. The primary instruction is online. The goal is for students to learn and practice vocabulary, grammatical constructs, and the other language skills needed to build rapport with their Spanish-speaking patients and communicate effectively and responsibly in clinical settings. Additionally, the elective includes online workshops or lectures, and end-course student presentations, focusing on culture-bound syndromes, working with medical interpreters, specific illnesses, or learning about the common barriers (cultural, language, financial, immigration-related and other) that underserved Spanish-speaking patients face when seeking medical care.
