The Pow Wow is a joyous celebration of Native American culture and traditions that draws hundreds of people from around the country each year. It is the only time during the year that our campus provides the arena for people across nations and generations to take part in dancing, prayers, and rituals.

The Heartbeat of the People could be heard from across campus as California State University Dominguez Hills celebrated its annual Pow Wow for the last nine years. However, the COVID-19 pandemic prevented the people from gathering, from dancing, from singing, and from celebrating together. The highly anticipated Tenth Annual Pow Wow was cancelled with an unforeseeable future. Disappointment and sadness were felt but hope was never lost. Although mass gatherings are prohibited, the people have not stopped dancing, singing, and praying.

This year, the CSUDH American Indian Center and Center for Service Learning (SLICE) are proud to present our first Virtual Native American Indian Pow Wow. This site showcases our honored staff dancing in the streets from different parts of California and beyond. This site also contains a collection of beautiful photos and videos from previous Pow Wows as well as, videos sent to us by our dancers to remind us that the spirit and heartbeat of our Native American community can still be heard and felt around the nation.
