Data Bracelets

Data bracelets are a super low cost and quick way to get students engaged with data. Students can choose their own data sets, assign their own data ranges, and bead colors. Or, you can do most of the work for them, turning it into a quick and easy classroom activity that can be completed in less than 20 mins. Data on precip and temperature for your location can be accessed freely here: https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/cdo-web/ We've made a worksheet below with precipitation data from Boulder, CO that gives students freedom to choose their own colors, and challenges them to group the data according to the number of colors they've chosen.  If you need help getting data or organizing it, let us know! • Pony or other beads (at least 5 colors)

• Elastic or other bracelet string
