Qualifying GATE in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence opens opportunities for admission to M.Tech, MS, and PhD programmes at premier institutes such as the Indian Institutes of Technology, Indian Institute of Science, and other leading universities and research institutions across India.
Candidates with a valid GATE score may become eligible for financial assistance during postgraduate studies, where many institutes provide a monthly stipend of approximately ₹12,400 during M.Tech/MS programmes. For PhD programmes, fellowship support generally ranges from ₹37,000 per month for the initial years to ₹42,000 or higher in subsequent years, subject to institute rules and prevailing government norms.
A strong GATE score also opens doors to recruitment opportunities in several Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), research laboratories, and government organizations for roles such as Scientist, Project Scientist, Research Fellow, and Research Associate. Depending on the organization, role, qualification, and experience, compensation in such positions can range anywhere from approximately ₹37,000 per month to over ₹1 lakh per month.
